Horton Hears a Who

On Memorial Day we took Kaden to the dollar theater to see Horton Hears a Who. It was Kaden's first trip to the movie theater, and for the most part we all had a lot of fun.

We also went out for ice cream before the theater. A big day for Kaden!

Fun with Grandma and Grandpa

Last week my parents were finishing off part of their patio and they wanted Kaden and Jocilyn to make their mark. Kaden was scared to put his hands in the cement at first but after a few fruit snacks and cheers he decided it was pretty fun.

Jocilyn didn't care for the experience much, but we still got her feet and a little of her diaper in the cement as well.

Jocilyn Clair Jones

On April 8th 2008 we had a new addition to our family. Jocilyn was actually due April 15th, but the day before she was born I started feeling contractions. It was pretty exciting at first (I never felt contractions with Kaden) so I had high hopes of going to the hospital and within a few hours we'd have a baby. Instead almost 24 hours later I sat awake in bed timing my contractions waiting for them to come fast enough so that we could finally go to the hospital.
At about 5am Kimball and I left for the hospital while my mom stayed at our apartment to watch Kaden. At the hospital I got a little more frustrated when the nurse told me it was probably only false labor. I couldn't believe I was going through all that pain and wasn't even getting a baby out of it. Luckily when the nurse checked me she was surprised to find out that Jocilyn actually was on the way. So after a few laps around the halls of the hospital and a long overdue epidural I was ready to push which is easier said than done when you are completely numb from the waist down (the epidural was a little too strong, but we managed). At 12:53pm we saw little Jocilyn. She weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 20 inches long. She was beautiful! I know I'm biased, but can there be a cuter little girl?
We are so grateful to have this little angel in our family. She is healthy and strong, and so much fun except for when she wakes us up in the middle of the night, but even then its not so bad. Kaden is a great big brother. He likes to look at his little sister, but is still nervous to get to close to her, other than to tickle her feet that is. Jo really loves that! As for Mom and Dad, we are getting used to being a family of four, but loving it. I actually think its been easier getting used to having two kids than one. I'm a lot less scared of not knowing what to do. I guess I've gotten used to the feeling after two years with Kaden. All in all we are simply grateful and happy.
