Oh So Cute!

The other day Kimball, me, Kaden and Jocilyn were all cuddling in our bed. Out of the blue Kaden says "I love Jocilyn." Kimball and I were gushing at what a sweetie he was when he went on to say "She's cute...like a kitty cat." What a sweetheart.

Patterson Family Campout

Last weekend was the Patterson campout. It was fun to hang out with all my cousins and we left with some interesting stories, although I can't say much for the dirt and the actual camping. We still had a great time though.

Here's a funny story. Just before dinner Kimball Kaden and I took off on a fourwheel ride. Our plan was to catch up to another group. We drove for about 10 miles and still hadn't found them. We figured we had lost them at a fork in the road a ways back. So we decided to call it quits and head back to camp, but just at that moment the fourwheeler died. I immediately took Kaden and started heading back up the very steep trail we were on while Kimball tried to get the fourwheeler started. A few minutes later he had no luck so we all started walking together. I knew if we could get to the fork in the road before the group came back from their ride we'd be just fine, but if not I really didn't want to walk 10 miles back to camp especially with Kaden. Luckily we had half a bottle of water, which we left to Kaden and after about 4 or 5 miles we crossed paths with our group. I was so relieved not to be out there in the dark. Next time we'll take a walkie-talkie.
Being stranded in the wilderness wasn't the most fun I've ever had, but don't worry. I took Pictures!

Melvin Jay LeBaron

This last week Kimball's Uncle Mel passed away. I didn't know him that well, but it was interesting to be at his funeral to learn more about who he was. I especially loved listening to his brothers talk about him and the special things that made them love him.
It was great to be there, and since I know a lot of you would have liked to come I thought I'd put up some photos for you to see.

A Day at the Pool

The other day we got to go to a really great pool in Lehi with Alvin, Amber, and some of their friends from Alaska. It was so great! It had an outdoor splash park, a lazy river, a kiddie pool with swings and slides, a kid area with a bigger slide and lots of other toys, and one giant slide. All of which Kaden played on and loved.
I was so nervous for him when he wanted to go on the really big slide. It was three stories tall and pitch black inside, but he came out smiling and insisted on going about 5 more times before we convinced him to try something else. But before he'd do anything else Mom had to go down with him which was a little embarrassing because I was too scared to go. Luckily I borrowed some courage from my two year old son and went down. It turned out to be pretty fun!

W also went swimming with Amber's family last week. We had so much fun, thanks for letting us come!

Happy Birthday Kimball!

Yesterday was Kimball's 27th birthday. I was so excited this year because Kimball actually wanted something for his birthday: an old Clint Eastwood movie called Where Eagles Dare. So that's what he got in addition to a can of easy cheese and crackers. If you know Kimball you know he likes cheese.

To celebrate we had dinner at Sizzler (not so bad for the low budget family friendly kind of place) with Kimball's brother Alvin and his wife Amber.

Afterwords we watched Where Eagles Dare at the house.
I hope it was a special day for him. Kimball is a great husband and father and deserves so much for all he does for our family. Hopefully its enough to repay him with hugs and kisses.

Bridal Veil Falls

Yesterday we took the family for a picnic at Bridal Veil Falls, up Provo canyon. Kaden was so excited to see the waterfall. At first he just stood there staring at it and then of course he wanted to get in the water. Eventually we got him to settle for throwing rocks at it.

It was pretty fun, although it probably would have gone smoother had we stopped along the trail to eat dinner rather than pull Kaden away from the waterfall to eat. But things worked out.
Kaden had so much fun watching the water and all the people on skateboards or walking their dogs. For him it was paradise. In case you're wondering Jocilyn was there too, but she wasn't exactly impressed by the scenery. It was good to get out and have a little fun now that the weather is nice and warm.

Baby Blessing

Today Kimball gave Jocilyn her baby blessing. It was so special to have Kimball give her the blessing. I am grateful he lives in a way that gives our family the priesthood power in our home. What a blessing.

Afterwards we got together at my parents house to have dinner and visit. We are so lucky to have so much family close by. What a great day! Kimball and I have a good life, but days like this have a way of putting things in perspective. They remind me of how great things really are. I guess it was kind of a stop and smell the roses moment.
